Impinj is the world's leading supplier of UHF Gen 2 RFID solutions.  Impinj's UHF chips are named after the Monza family.  From M3, M4, M5, M6, all the way up to the latest M7.  There's also an MX series, but each generation, maybe more than one.

For example, M4 series contains: M4D, M4E, M4i, M4U, M4QT, among which M4i and M4u gradually fade out.  The entire M4 series is a dual-port chip, which can be used for dual-polarized labels.  In this way, the line polarized labels cannot be read across the polarization of the read and write antennas, or the polarization attenuation is close to the read distance.  It is worth mentioning that the QT function of M4QT chip is almost unique to the whole field, divided into public and private data storage mode, higher security.

The same series of chips, mostly different memory area division and size, its impedance, binding mode, chip size, sensitivity is the same, but individual will have some new functions.

Impinj's chips are rarely replaced with updates;  each generation has its own sparkle and irsubstitutability.  Therefore, M4 and M6 still occupy a large market share until M7 series appears.  The most common ones on the market are their M4QT, MR6-P, and now M730 and M750.

Overall, Impinj's chip updates regularly, with higher sensitivity and smaller chip sizes.  Impinj, like Alien, will launch with a linear public release for each application.  Classic lines are: H47, E61, AR61F, etc.

The basic principle of the RFID system is: from the perspective of the communication between the electronic tag and the reader and the energy induction mode, the system can be divided into two categories, namely the inductance Coupling (InductiveCoupling) system and the electromagnetic Backscatter Coupling system.  The inductive coupling is realized through the space high-frequency alternating magnetic field, which is based on the electromagnetic induction law.  Electromagnetic backscatter coupling, namely the radar principle model, the electromagnetic wave is emitted when it hits the target, and then reflects back the target information, according to the spatial propagation law of electromagnetic wave.
